Abul Simbel Sound & Light Show

Abul Simbel Sound & Light Show

The temple is situated 320 km south of Aswan and consists of two temples, which were built in 1250 BC by one of the greatest pharaohs, Ramses II.
The first thing about Abul Simbel that you will notice is its sheer enormity. As you turn the corner and see the temple in front of you, the size of it will surprise and amaze you.
Abul Simbel is a monumental temple constructed by Ramses II and contains four giant statues of Ramses sitting on his throne, carved into the enormous and on the other side another temple, dedicated to his favourite wife Neferatari. Here again there are four statues of Ramses and two of Neferatari.
The sound and light show at Abul Simbel will take you back to the time of the pharaohs, whilst the music brings the ancient world to life.
Narrated by Omar Sharif and the two temples are lit up with spectacular effect and colour, to show you how they once looked. You are taken back thousands of years and told the story of Ramses II.
The show is shown 3 times a day at 6.00 pm, 7.00 pm and 8.00 pm.
